: ROSIÈRES
: 160 m. Bordering the river La Beaume, you will
discover in this village ancient houses and a church
composed of a romanesque part and of a gothic
portal. The church of the hamlet of Balbiac in the
Romanesque style is also to be seen. The Ramêne.
VERNON
: 250 m. To be seen are the castle with its circular
tower and the Romanesque church both on a perched
site. Panorama over the valley of la Beaume.
RIBES
: 300 m. Picturesque village with its
numerous terrace vineyards and chestnut trees. (The
site has been listed amongst the "paysages de
reconquête" since 1992). Typical rural houses,
church with a Romanesque apse. Former Roman way.

BEAUMONT
: Southern land stretching from 200 m to 1,200 m
where olive and chestnut trees, vineyards, heather,
box and broom all grow side by side on steep slopes
artfully cultivated since the 9th c. Romanesque
church with a "clocher plat" (a flat roofed bell
tower). Farmhouses with "Lauzes" rooves. Banks of
the Drobie and of the Beaume rivers.
SAINT-MELANY : 450
m. Village located in the heart of the Ardèche
Cévennes. You will admire
perfectly preserved "Faisses" -hilllside terraces-,
discover ancient public fountains, old beehives in
chestnut trees trunks topped by stone slabs, bread
ovens. Also to be seen is the remarkable Brousse
bridge which spans the river Drobie.
DOMPNAC
: 510 m. Splendid chapel (St Régis Pourcharesse) to
be visited. Romanesque church with its bell tower.

LOUBARESSE
: 1 220 m. Village situated on a wild plateau
surrounded by volcanic stones. 19th c church and
ruins of a watchtower.
VALGORGE
: 561 m. Village situated in the wild and wooded
upper valley of La Beaume, Hamlet of Chastanet :
Gothic chapel and 15th c castle, birthplace of the
historian Ovide de Valgorge. 16th c Square donjon.

: 550 m. Laboule derives from a low latin word
meaning “the altitude lines”.
