Le Mont Gerbier de Jonc

BURZET
: 540 m. Set in the Bourges valley in the middle of
a cirque formed by volcanic hills. Church dating
back to 1456, masterpiece of medieval art with its
arch bell tower. 13th c calvary, the unique of its
style to be punctuated by 32 stations on the way
uphill. On each Holy Friday takes place the re-enactment
of the passion.
Renowned when it featured as part of the Monte Carlo
Rallye. Nowadays, the village is passed through
during numerous rallyes.

SAGNES ET GOUDOULET :
1 250 m. Typical farmhouses with "lauzes" and
"genêts" rooves, listed as historic monument.
Romanesque church. To be tasted : the "Goudoulet"
cheese. Cross country skiing.
SAINTE-EULALIE
: 1 230 m. Village of the Ardèche Plateau in the
midst of grazing land bordering the river Loire.
State owned forests of Bonnefoy and of Chanchemine.
Farmhouses listed as historic monument with their
rooves made of "lauzes" (slate) and "genêts" (broom).
The Mont-Gerbier-de-Jonc with an altitude of 1.551 m
is not far from the Source of the river Loire. Fine
view. Nordic and Alpine skiing.

PEREYRES : 750 m. The Ray Pic waterfall,
a. 50 m fall along a cliff formed by a succession of
lava flows, is the most beautiful one in Vivarais.
Le Pas de Fer and Pied Moulu gorges. A restored 19th
c church. Bilberry fair on the last July week-end.
SAGNES
