The road of the gorge
LAGORCE
:
130 m. The Ibie Valley. With its 7 000 acres, it is
the vastest village in the department. The ruins of
the feudal castle are accessible on foot. The Dent
du Rez offers a spectacular view of the Rhône valley,
the Mont Mézenc, the Gerbier de Jonc and the
Cévennes foothills. Botanical path, about 1 km from
the village lies Notre-Dame-d'Adjudo’s chapel –
Temple – listed as a historic monument- 19th c
church. Dolmens.
RUOMS:
120 m. Between Uzer and Ruoms lies the "défilés de
Ruoms" succession of tunnels carved through the
cliff and overlooking the river Ardèche.
Ruoms is renowned for its stone - pedestal of the
Statue of Liberty in New York and the Municipal
Theatre in Montpellier -. 11th c-12th c Romanesque
church and ruins of ancient ramparts. Chapel Notre
Dame des Pommiers of the 18c listed as a historical
monument.

SAMPZON
:
110 m. Sampzon Rock, natural belvedere from which
can be admired a breathtaking view of the lower
Ardèche - viewing table – La Bastide Castel
GROSPIERRES
:
124 m. Ruined village of Chastelas. Font Vive, a
resurgent spring of Vaucluse type. Dolmens. Notre
Dame des Songes ancient romanesque chapel. In the
Hamlet of Comps, church, houses, alleyways and
ancient doors.
LABEAUME
:
140 m. Listed as a "village full of Character".
Beautiful stone houses, arcades, galeries, cobbled
alleyways, surrounded by cliffs and located
alongside the river La Beaume. Sablas square with
its hundred-year-old plane trees. Old submersible
bridge. At Chapias hamlet, Notre Dame de la
Délivrance Chapel with its tower topped by a virgin
is worth a visit. Troglodytic caves.
